		<description>You should be a bit careful generalizing Lisp as a functional language - especially in the context you&#039;re talking about (Graham&#039;s Viaweb). Graham never used Lisp as a very functional language at all, instead relying on other paradigms of Lisp to be successful. (Such as heavy macro-based metaprogramming).</description>
